When switching to Stellar render mode in DELTAGEN 2017 an unhandled exception occurs. Additionally, the unsupported graphics or driver message pops up at DELTAGEN start.
The problem only appears if multiple user work on the same machine.
If one user starts DELTAGEN, which implicitly creates the Stellar cache with his user account, all other users lack writing rights to the cache folder (except administrators), which only results in problems for the other users, not for the one who created the cache respectively used DELTAGEN first.
For releases prior DELTAGEN 2017x the attached .exe file can be used to adjust the rights to Stellar cache under programdata accordingly for all other users on the machine. The executable can be used by any user with administration rights on the computer and should solve the problem for every other user on that machine as well.
Alternatively an administrator could do the following steps manually:
- select Windows® Start
- type in %programdata% into the – command line
- confirm with Enter
- This should navigate you to C:ProgramDataDassaultSystemes
- right click on the 3DEXCITE folder
- navigate to Properties > Security tab
- select BUILTINUsers from the top list
- click Edit
- check Modify and Write
- confirm with OK
